StoneSheets® Designer Series brings Onyx to life like never before. Traditionally, when Onyx was fabricated, it was necessary to create reinforcement channels within the material, which have interfered with the transparency. StoneSheets® Designer Series uses tempered glass to reinforce the Onyx, which better allows the transparency of this unique material to be realized. The Tempered Glass provides support to the edge of the Onyx, not relying on the strength of the material itself to support the weight of the pieces, allowing designs to come to life.
StoneSheets® Designer Series begins with your choice of Onyx, cut into thin slabs and bonded to 10mm of Tempered Glass; for smaller size requirements, we also offer a 5mm Tempered Glass option. The strong, glass reinforcement is perfect for the Onyx to allow light through where designs allow. StoneSheets® Designer Series can feature any stone, but obviously the tranparency feature is best realized with Onyx. There are many differenty types of Onyx, so the type of Onyx chosen will factor into determining the maximum material size limitations.
